Solo Launch Long Grass/Strong Winds
Sometimes, longer grass or uneven ground will prevent the kite from inflating completely and may cause the spar to bend so that the aerofoil distorts.
When the wind is strong, the kite may appear to "stick" to the ground with the leading edge caved in. In these cases, a solo launch may be more easily achieved by setting the kite at an angle to the wind.
To do this, pull back on one hand and push the other forward, so that the kite rotates on the ground. After checking you have a clear path, walk backwards until the wing tip nearer to you begins to lift.
As the kite leaves the ground, return your hands to the normal positions to fly it straight up.
